Happy fall, beauties!
I hope you have been enjoying the start to this season, complete with yummy spiced beverages, candles, and transitional sweaters (or, if you live in central NC like me, perhaps some perfect red nail polish until the cooler weather gets here!) At each change of the season, I like to take stock of the seasons happening personally - with a breath in and out, a prayer of thankfulness, and a list of goals for the season ahead.
I announced a few months ago that LULA will be retiring from weddings after this year, and although it was a scary decision to make (and even scarier to announce!) it has felt so good and right. The biggest decisions seem like the hardest ones to make, and they tend to take some time to work through, but following that inner sense of peace and knowing has been totally worth it!
Since announcing the change, I have felt a breath of fresh air into my creative life, as well as the rhythms of just normal life. Buying groceries, cleaning the house, family and church activities, and answering emails have all felt a little lighter knowing that what has made up such a huge portion of my workload and creative energy is coming to a healthy, happy close. With that rested in my mind, I have felt space and freedom to let myself dream and see what blooms while finishing strong with my last weddings this year!
Here’s what I want you to know: there is a new website home coming!
It’s going to feel similar to what I have tried to cultivate here in the Journal and within the LULETTE GAZETTE, but without the specific focus on beauty and weddings. I want to continue having amazing conversations with you about the things we see, feel, experience, and think in our daily lives as women. I want to share my own stories, lessons, struggles, and my voice, and invite you to do that as well (as so many of you do so beautifully, in the internet world or in the sacred spaces of your own homes!) There will be Bucket Lists, Loving Lately’s, and monthly recaps as there have been here. And there will be much more, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
For those of you subscribed to the Gazette, you will continue getting those, just under the new moniker reflecting this new direction. It will look and feel much like the Gazette, but know you are absolutely free to opt out at any time! We have to protect our eyes and minds, and feed them appropriate things at the right times, and that can’t be all the newsletters all the time! Whatever you choose, I want to tell you that I am SO thankful for your love and support throughout the life of LULA!
I hope to see you there, kindreds, and I’m wishing you a wonderful fall!
Sincerely, Sam
