Holiday Hair + Makeup Inspiration

The holidays provide the perfect opportunity to stretch your normal hair and makeup routine outside of the box, even if just a little!  Don't be afraid to play with rich, poppy colors, or to try a hair style you've always been interested in but never took the time to try!  I have provided links to products that can help you achieve the looks.

Lipstick Queen Jungle Queen $24 // Beautycounter Color Outline Eye Pencil in Black $23 // Beautycounter Eye Duo in Oyster + Amethyst $34 // Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlighter $28

I love the non-traditional orange and dewiness for this holiday inspi!  Focus on bold brows, eyeliner under the eye, highlighting, and save the lipstick for last!

Smashbox Be Legendary Matte Lipstick $20 //  Color Define Brow Pencil $23 // Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Palette Volume II $36 // Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus $37

A more traditional take on a holiday red lip, with soft brown/mauve eyeshadow and creamy cheeks to compliment.

Sheer Lipstick in Plum $30 // Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in Petal $26 // Benefit Dandelion Blush $29

For a more toned down look, play with a sheer jewel tone on the lips, soft cheeks, and a liquid line.

HAIR

Goody Spin Pins $6 // Style Sea Salt Spray $29 // Poppy Sparkle Hair Pins $16

Swap out your jewelry for a bold hair adornment instead!  It will take a messy do (that won't take too much perfection) to the next level.  To start, use a salt spray to really amp up the messiness all over.  Secure in small knots at the base of the head with Spinpins, and dress up with your flashy pins of choice!

Volume & Shape Volumizing Mist $28 // Salon Care Professional Supreme Brown Bobby Pins $8 // Tool Structure Tease Layers Rattail Comb $3

The trick to a good tuck is to volumize and tease beforehand, which ideally starts when your hair is wet.  Add a volume spray to the root, blow-dry upside down, and tease at the crown.  Then tie into a low pony, & loop-de-loop for the tuck! Use pins to secure.

Hot Shot Gold Series 1" Curling Iron $40 // Salon Care Metal Duckbill Clips $4 // Wigo Cushion Boar Hair Bristle Brush $25 //  Rusk Wired Styling Cream $14

I love a hollywood style, and it is great on short hair, too!  Curl sections with a large barrel iron, secure them to your head with duckbill clips to set.  Allow to set 10 minutes, and release, combing through with a boar-hair bristle brush.  Apply a styling cream for bouncy hold.

Happy Holiday Styling, beauties!

Love,

Sam
