I won't forget the first time I drove up the little country road to Morning Glory Farm, Maggie's family home, a gorgeous wedding venue, and where she herself would be saying I do. It was a perfect spring day and I was meeting her and her mother, Nan, for her trial. It was all the perfect shades of green typical of a true North Carolina spring.
Consulting with Maggie on her wedding day look was a dream come true for me - exciting and challenging. I love it when a bride knows what she wants. She told me she didn't want her hair or makeup to compete with the natural, rich beauty of the setting - green grass, blueberry bushes, and huge billowing trees. She sought for a very minimal, undone look in order to let her dress, florals, and the setting shine. We went with ivories, light peaches, and muted bronze.
The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect, with a light warm breeze and family and friends getting everything ready. It was just Maggie, Nan, and I in their home getting ready, with a few close friends coming in and out to share a hug and a blessing (and some coffee!) Maggie was so thoughtful, so peaceful, and so thankful sitting there, soaking in those sweet moments. I sincerely love being a part of that - the precious moments of preparation of a bride on her wedding day. It's an honor.
Caravan Weddings did a fantastic job capturing the moments with video, and you can see a few peeks of me doing my work towards the beginning!
Maggie, you looked breathtaking. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part!
